Alayo was awarded a curatorial research grant from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art for this exhibition. Entangled Pasts brought together 100 major contemporary and historical works, examining the role of art in shaping narratives of empire, enslavement, resistance, abolition and colonialism – and how it may help set a course for the future.
